Sean Buckner: Lots of LLCs & No Mentions in Bankruptcy

This is update with more LLCs Sean Buckner didn’t put in his bankruptcy from this article.

Arizona Corporation Commission records confirm at least three active limited liability companies bearing William Sean Buckner's name as member or statutory agent were legally alive when he signed a federal bankruptcy petition declaring zero business interests under penalty of perjury — and the picture keeps growing

When Sean Buckner filed for bankruptcy in March 2015 he told the federal court a simple story. He was a self-employed paraglider instructor earning $492.34 a month. He owned a totaled pickup truck, some used clothing, a handgun, a ski boat, and paragliding equipment. His total assets were $5,950. He had no business interests of any kind.

He signed that story under penalty of perjury.

The Arizona Corporation Commission tells a different story entirely.

A comprehensive review of Arizona business registration records — conducted by PublicCrime.com and citizen journalist Dustin Terry after Buckner's own public Facebook response to this investigation inadvertently pointed toward his business history — has identified at minimum three active limited liability companies bearing William S. Buckner's name as a member or statutory agent that were legally alive, active, and in good standing at the exact moment he signed that bankruptcy petition.

None of them appear anywhere in his bankruptcy filing.

Not one. Not in Schedule B. Not in the Statement of Financial Affairs. Not anywhere in the forty-five page federal court document he signed under penalty of perjury on March 6, 2015.

This investigation is not asserting that Sean Buckner committed bankruptcy fraud. That is a legal conclusion requiring evidence and determination by federal authorities and courts. What this investigation is asserting — based entirely on public government records that anyone can verify — is that there is a specific, documented, multi-entity discrepancy between what the Arizona Corporation Commission's own database shows about Buckner's business interests at the time of his bankruptcy and what his bankruptcy filing discloses. That discrepancy is not small. It is not ambiguous. And it grows larger the more records are examined.

How This Investigation Began

This investigation began not with business records but with child support.

PublicCrime.com and citizen journalist Dustin Terry have spent weeks documenting the public court record of William Sean Buckner, Republican candidate for the Oklahoma U.S. Senate seat vacated by Markwayne Mullin's appointment as U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security.

That record includes a fourteen-year Arizona family court battle over child support for his daughter, a $15,383.62 child support judgment entered by the State of Oklahoma in March 2025 covering nine years of non-payment, a federal civil rights lawsuit arising from a traffic stop found frivolous unreasonable and groundless by a federal judge resulting in approximately $50,000 in attorney fee sanctions, a criminal conviction in New Jersey in November 2025 for defiant trespass and threatening language, and a 2015 federal bankruptcy petition that declared zero business ownership interests while listing $29,537 in unpaid child support as nearly ninety percent of his total declared debt.

On April 8, 2026 Buckner posted a public response to that reporting on his Facebook page Sean Buckner Transparency. In defending himself against questions about his bankruptcy he mentioned for the first time a company called Sean Buckner and Associates Real Estate through which he says he transferred over $1.5 million in property to his ex-wife Kimberly during their divorce.

That one mention sent investigators to the Arizona Corporation Commission database. What they found was not one company. It was not two. It was a growing constellation of business entities connected to William S. Buckner — active, registered, legally alive — that do not appear anywhere in a bankruptcy filing he signed under penalty of perjury.

What Federal Bankruptcy Law Requires

Before detailing each entity it is essential to establish precisely what the law required Buckner to disclose in his March 2015 bankruptcy filing.

Federal bankruptcy Schedule B requires individual debtors to disclose all stock and interests in incorporated and unincorporated businesses and all interests in partnerships or joint ventures. The Statement of Financial Affairs question 18 requires individual debtors to list the names addresses taxpayer identification numbers nature of the businesses and beginning and ending dates of all businesses in which the debtor was an officer, director, partner, or managing executive, or owned five percent or more of the voting or equity securities, within the six years immediately preceding the filing of the bankruptcy case.

Six years before March 6, 2015 is March 6, 2009.

Any business entity in which William S. Buckner held a membership interest, served as a managing executive, acted as statutory agent with management authority, or owned five percent or more of the equity, that was active at any point between March 2009 and March 2015, was required to be disclosed in his bankruptcy filing.

Buckner disclosed none. Zero. The relevant sections of his bankruptcy filing are blank.

Here is what the Arizona Corporation Commission shows was actually out there.

Entity One: Sean Buckner & Associates Realty, Inc.

The entity Buckner himself mentioned in his Facebook response.

Formed: May 13, 1999. Business type: Domestic For-Profit Corporation. Character of business: Real Estate. William S. Buckner listed as Secretary from September 2003. Address: 726 E Van Buren Street, Goodyear, Arizona 85338 — identical to his bankruptcy filing address.

Status: INACTIVE. Reason: Administrative Dissolution — Failure to File Annual Report. Dissolution date: September 28, 2007. Last annual report filed: 2005. Twenty consecutive years of unfiled annual reports from 2006 through 2025.

On the specific bankruptcy disclosure question this entity sits in the most legally ambiguous position of all the companies discussed in this article. Its administrative dissolution in September 2007 places it approximately eighteen months before the March 2009 start of the six-year lookback window. A strictly technical reading of the disclosure requirement might exclude it.

However the context of its abandonment is directly relevant to understanding Buckner's financial history. A real estate corporation substantial enough to hold and transfer over $1.5 million in property — which Buckner himself claims it did — was abandoned and allowed to die by administrative dissolution during the exact same period Buckner was failing to pay child support in the Maricopa County family court. The company filed its last annual report for 2005. Contempt petitions for non-payment of child support were being filed in 2005 and 2006. The company was dissolved by the state in September 2007.

He did not close his real estate company properly. He simply walked away from it while a court was trying to make him pay for his daughter.

This company is important context. It is not the central legal issue. The entities below are.

Entity Two: Sean Buckner Industries, L.L.C.

The entity Buckner did not mention in his Facebook response.

Formed: March 2, 2006. Business type: Domestic Limited Liability Company. Business ID: L12678545. Principal office address: 726 E Van Buren Street, Goodyear, Arizona 85338. William S. Buckner listed as sole member and statutory agent, taking office March 2006.

Since the Articles of Organization were approved on March 2, 2006 this company has never filed a single additional document with the Arizona Corporation Commission. In Arizona LLCs are not required to file annual reports. As a result Sean Buckner Industries LLC has remained legally active with no further action required.

Current status: ACTIVE. IN GOOD STANDING.

This company was formed in March 2006 — nine years before the bankruptcy. It falls squarely within the six-year lookback window running back to March 2009. William S. Buckner is its sole member and statutory agent. It was legally alive on March 6, 2015 when Buckner signed his bankruptcy petition.

It is not in the bankruptcy filing.

The critical question about this entity — one that applies to its disclosure significance — is whether it was dormant. An LLC with no assets, no income, and no activity may be of minimal practical significance to a bankruptcy estate. We cannot determine from the Arizona Corporation Commission record alone whether Sean Buckner Industries LLC ever conducted any business. What we can determine is that it existed, that Buckner was its sole member, and that it is not in his bankruptcy filing.

What prevents us from simply setting this one aside as a possible innocent omission is everything that surrounds it. By the time we understand this entity in its full context — alongside the others detailed below — the dormant shell explanation becomes increasingly difficult to sustain.

Entity Three: Universal Air & Repair, L.L.C.

This is the entity that significantly elevates the seriousness of the disclosure question.

Formed: August 11, 2003. Business type: Domestic Limited Liability Company. Business ID: L10898369. Principal office address: 726 E Van Buren, Goodyear, Arizona, Maricopa, 85338 — identical to the bankruptcy filing address. Management structure: Member Managed.

Statutory agent: William S. Buckner. Statutory agent address: 726 E Van Buren, Goodyear, AZ 85338. Status: Active.

Members: William S. Buckner, member taking office August 2003, address 726 E Van Buren Goodyear AZ 85338. Bryan W. Williams, member taking office August 2003, address 3112 N Meadow Dr, Avondale, AZ 85323.

Current status: ACTIVE. IN GOOD STANDING.

This company was formed in August 2003 — nearly twelve years before the bankruptcy filing. It has been continuously active and in good standing ever since. It will have been legally alive for over twenty-two years by the time this article is published. William S. Buckner is not merely a member. He is the statutory agent — the person legally designated to receive official correspondence, legal notices, and government documents on behalf of the company. Being a statutory agent is an active, ongoing legal responsibility. It requires maintaining a current registered address with the state. You do not accidentally remain a statutory agent of a company for twelve years.

Universal Air & Repair LLC was active in every single year from 2003 through 2015. It was active in March 2009 — the start of the six-year lookback window. It was active in March 2015 — the date of the bankruptcy filing. It falls squarely, unambiguously, and completely within the mandatory disclosure window.

It is not in the bankruptcy filing.

The name of this company deserves particular attention alongside what comes next. Universal Air and Repair. Air. Repair. In the context of a man who listed his occupation in the bankruptcy filing as paraglider instructor and whose assets included a paraglider, payout winch, harnesses, tandem reserve, helmets, books, and student practice gear, the presence of an active LLC called Universal Air and Repair with Buckner as its statutory agent raises an immediate and direct question: was this the business entity through which he operated some or all of his aerosports-related business activity?

That question becomes impossible to ignore when placed alongside the fourth entity.

Entity Four: B&N Aerosports LLC

This is the entity that first made the bankruptcy disclosure question unavoidable. Everything else reinforces it.

Formed: July 9, 2014. Business type: Domestic Limited Liability Company. Business ID: L19380064. Principal office address: 15715 W Shiloh Ave, Goodyear, AZ 85338 — the exact address listed in Buckner's bankruptcy filing.

Members and management: Charles J. Norris of 73 E Monte Vista Road Phoenix Arizona 85004, listed as both Manager and Member taking office July 2014, also listed as statutory agent. William S. Buckner, listed as Member taking office July 2014, address 15715 W Shiloh Ave Goodyear AZ 85338.

Filing history: Articles of Organization filed July 9, 2014, approved. Articles of Amendment filed December 26, 2014, approved.

Current status: ACTIVE. IN GOOD STANDING.

The timeline surrounding B&N Aerosports LLC is the most acute disclosure problem in this entire investigation.

B&N Aerosports LLC was formed on July 9, 2014. Buckner's bankruptcy was filed on March 6, 2015. Eight months separated those two events.

B&N Aerosports LLC was actively amended on December 26, 2014. Buckner's bankruptcy was filed on March 6, 2015. Ten weeks separated those two events.

Someone — Buckner and his co-member Charles J. Norris — went to the Arizona Corporation Commission in December 2014 and filed a formal amendment to this company's organizational documents. Ten weeks later Buckner signed a federal bankruptcy petition declaring zero business interests of any kind.

B&N Aerosports LLC. The name. Aerosports. Buckner's stated occupation in the bankruptcy filing: paraglider instructor. Paragliding is an aerosport. The equipment listed in his bankruptcy assets — paraglider, payout winch, harnesses, tandem reserve, helmets, books, student practice gear — is the equipment of an aerosports operation.

He told the bankruptcy court he was a self-employed paraglider instructor. He did not tell the bankruptcy court he was a member of an LLC called B&N Aerosports with the same occupation at the same address. Those two things sit in direct and irreconcilable tension with each other unless an explanation exists that the public record has not yet provided.

B&N Aerosports LLC is not in the bankruptcy filing.

The Welding Companies: A Family Connection That Requires Clarity

The TruthFinder background report on William S. Buckner also shows two welding-related business entries: B&B Welding and B&B Welding Inc. A search of the Oklahoma Secretary of State database confirms the existence of B&B Welding Inc. as a Domestic For-Profit Business Corporation formed March 6, 2003 in Oklahoma. The registered agent listed is Bill Buckner at Route 4 Box 460, Sallisaw, Oklahoma 74955 — Buckner's hometown.

The TruthFinder employment record associates William S. Buckner with B&B Welding Inc. with a date first seen of March 21, 2001 and a date last seen of January 1, 2026, at an address of 464779 E 1070 Rd, Sallisaw, Oklahoma 74955.

We want to be precise about this entry. The registered agent is listed as Bill Buckner — not William S. Buckner. The obituary of Bill Herbert Buckner Sr. reviewed earlier in this investigation listed among his survivors Sean Buckner and Stephanie of Sallisaw, and Bill Buckner and Jessica of Sallisaw. The Bill Buckner listed as registered agent of B&B Welding Inc. in Sallisaw may be Sean Buckner's brother rather than Sean Buckner himself.

This connection requires independent verification before it can be reported as definitively belonging to Sean Buckner's business history. We are presenting it here as a record requiring further investigation rather than as an established fact. If B&B Welding Inc. is connected to Sean Buckner rather than to a family member of the same nickname, it would represent yet another business entity connected to him that does not appear in his bankruptcy filing.

The Aerospace and Air Business Cluster: What It Suggests

When the confirmed entities are arranged by their nature and purpose a pattern emerges that goes beyond the legal disclosure question.

Sean Buckner & Associates Realty Inc. — Real estate corporation. Active 1999 to 2007.

Sean Buckner Industries LLC — General purpose LLC. Active 2006 to present.

Universal Air & Repair LLC — Air and repair operations. Active 2003 to present. Buckner as statutory agent and co-member with Bryan W. Williams.

B&N Aerosports LLC — Aerosports operations. Active 2014 to present. Buckner as co-member with Charles J. Norris.

Two of the four confirmed active entities are directly connected to aviation and aerosports. One is called Universal Air and Repair. One is called B&N Aerosports. Both were active at the time of the bankruptcy. Both list Buckner at his bankruptcy address. And Buckner's stated occupation in the bankruptcy was paraglider instructor — an aerosports profession.

The picture that emerges is not of a man who was accidentally a sole member of a forgotten dormant shell. It is of a man who appears to have been operating some form of aerosports and aviation-related business through multiple LLC structures — Universal Air and Repair on one hand, B&N Aerosports on the other — while simultaneously representing himself to a federal bankruptcy court as a simple self-employed paraglider instructor earning $492 a month with no business interests.

The Statutory Agent Problem

There is one element of the Universal Air & Repair LLC record that deserves special emphasis because it is particularly difficult to explain away by any innocent account.

William S. Buckner is listed as the statutory agent of Universal Air & Repair LLC. Not just a member. The statutory agent.

In Arizona a statutory agent is the person designated by a business entity to receive legal documents, official state correspondence, service of process, and government notices on behalf of the company. Maintaining a statutory agent registration is an active and ongoing legal responsibility. The Arizona Corporation Commission requires statutory agents to maintain a current physical address. When the state needs to communicate with a business entity it does so through the statutory agent.

For twelve continuous years — from August 2003 through March 2015 and beyond — William S. Buckner was the statutory agent of Universal Air & Repair LLC. During those twelve years he would have been the designated recipient of any legal notices sent to that company by the State of Arizona. He would have been the person responsible for ensuring the company's registration remained current. He would have been, in the eyes of the State of Arizona, the official legal representative of that business entity.

It is not possible to be the statutory agent of a company for twelve years without knowing the company exists. Statutory agency is not a passive relationship. It is an active legal designation that the agent must accept and maintain. The suggestion that Buckner simply forgot to include Universal Air & Repair LLC in his bankruptcy filing because he was unaware of it is not available as an explanation. He was its statutory agent. He knew it existed.

The Bankruptcy Disclosure: What Was Required, What Was Disclosed

To summarize the legal framework with clarity.

Buckner's March 2015 bankruptcy filing was required under federal law to disclose all business interests within the preceding six years — back to March 2009.

Within that window the Arizona Corporation Commission confirms at minimum three active LLCs connected to William S. Buckner as member or statutory agent:

Sean Buckner Industries LLC — formed 2006, active continuously, sole member William S. Buckner.

Universal Air & Repair LLC — formed 2003, active continuously, statutory agent and co-member William S. Buckner.

B&N Aerosports LLC — formed July 2014, amended December 2014, active, co-member William S. Buckner.

What Buckner disclosed under penalty of perjury: zero business interests.

The discrepancy between those two things is a matter of documented public record. It is verifiable by anyone with an internet connection and access to the Arizona Corporation Commission's free public business search database.

What Buckner Has Said

In his April 8 Facebook response Buckner mentioned Sean Buckner and Associates Real Estate. He did not mention Sean Buckner Industries LLC. He did not mention Universal Air & Repair LLC. He did not mention B&N Aerosports LLC.

He has not addressed the bankruptcy disclosure question as it relates to these entities. He has not explained why three active Arizona LLCs with his name on them do not appear in his federal bankruptcy filing. He has not identified what Universal Air & Repair LLC does or did. He has not explained the December 2014 amendment to B&N Aerosports LLC filed ten weeks before his bankruptcy. He has not identified who Bryan W. Williams and Charles J. Norris are or what their roles in his business activities have been.

He has threatened to sue citizen journalist Dustin Terry for reporting his public record. He has threatened to investigate Terry's personal life. He has called the reporting false. He has not provided a single document contradicting any of the public records identified in this investigation.

This publication submitted questions to Buckner through his publicly available Facebook page prior to publication. As of publication time no substantive response to these specific questions has been received.

The Broader Context: Why This Matters to Oklahoma Voters

Sean Buckner is running for the United States Senate on a platform of transparency and accountability. He is asking the voters of Oklahoma to trust him with one of the most powerful elected positions in American government. He sat for confirmation hearings he would play no role in, but he would vote on bankruptcy law, oversee the federal judiciary, and sit on committees with authority over the very agencies responsible for enforcing the financial laws this investigation has examined.

The child support enforcement program that entered a judgment against him in March 2025 is federally funded under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. The U.S. Trustee Program that monitors bankruptcy compliance is a division of the Department of Justice. The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives that licensed his pawn shop is a federal agency under DOJ oversight. A United States Senator votes on the budgets and oversight of all of these programs.

The voters of Oklahoma deserve to make an informed decision about the man asking for their trust. The public record now documents at minimum three active business entities that were not disclosed in a federal bankruptcy filing signed under penalty of perjury, a multi-decade history of child support non-payment across two states, a criminal conviction in New Jersey, a federal lawsuit found frivolous, a threatening social media response to a citizen journalist, and military service claims that raise questions requiring independent verification.

This investigation began with public court records. It has grown because every time we pulled a thread another thread appeared. Sean Buckner's Facebook response led us to the Arizona Corporation Commission. The Arizona Corporation Commission led us to Universal Air and Repair. Universal Air and Repair and B&N Aerosports together led us to the aerosports business cluster. The aerosports business cluster sits in direct contradiction with the paraglider instructor narrative in the bankruptcy filing.

None of this required access to private records. None of it required confidential sources. Every document in this investigation is publicly available. Every record can be verified. Every database can be searched. We searched them. We found what was there. We are reporting what we found.

Sean Buckner named his platform Transparency.

The Arizona Corporation Commission's records are transparent. The federal bankruptcy court record is transparent. The discrepancy between them is transparent.

What has not been transparent is his accounting of his own business history to a federal bankruptcy court, to the voters of Oklahoma, and to the public record that will follow him wherever he goes.

A Final Note on Legal Precision

This publication has been careful throughout this investigation to distinguish between what the public record shows and what legal conclusions those records support. We repeat that distinction here.

We are not asserting that Sean Buckner committed bankruptcy fraud or perjury. Those are serious legal determinations that require evidence beyond public records and adjudication by federal authorities and courts.

What we are asserting is precise and documentable. The Arizona Corporation Commission shows at minimum three active LLCs with William S. Buckner as member or statutory agent that were legally alive when he signed a federal bankruptcy petition disclosing zero business interests. He was the statutory agent of one of them for twelve continuous years. He was an active member of another that was amended ten weeks before the bankruptcy filing. The name of a third corresponds directly to his stated occupation in that same filing.

Those facts are in the public record. They raise questions the public is entitled to have answered. And they will remain in the public record regardless of what legal threats are made against the journalists who found them.
